Everton striker Romelu Lukaku was in sensational form at St Mary's today and will be held in higher regard by the home crowd after offering his sincere apologies to one particular supporter prior to kick-off.
The marauding striker was a constant thorn in the opening 45 minutes as Everton's counter-attack picked off the Saints twice, with the former Chelsea man bagging a brace on the south coast.
It was an eventful day for Lukaku, who was in the crowd before kick-off after one of his shots during practice was off-target and hit a supporter in the stand
The forward immediately scrambled into the stands behind the goal at St Mary's and apologised profusely to the Southampton supporter, which was recognised by the home crowd.
